Because price is driven by the condition of the surfaces as much as the size of the area. Two identical rooms can differ substantially if one has sound paintwork and the other has flaking render, water damage or failed sealant. Quoting without seeing it either overcharges you or sets up a variation later.

The price we quote is the price you pay. It is itemised by area with the products named, so you can see exactly what is included. The only time it changes is if you ask us to add work, and that is always agreed in writing first.

For most residential jobs there is no deposit and you settle on completion. On larger contracts we agree a payment schedule up front so both sides know where they stand. Whatever applies to your job is set out on the quote.

Yes. We are licensed Master Painters in the ACT and NSW, carry public liability cover, and are Dulux and Haymes accredited. Our ABN is 90 145 675 430 and we can supply our certificates of currency on request.

Every job carries a five year guarantee on our workmanship, included in the price rather than sold as an extra. If our workmanship fails in that time we come back and put it right at no cost to you.

Our own painters. We are a family run business with more than 22 years in the trade, and the person who quotes your job is involved in completing it. You will not find a different subcontractor on site each week.

Preparation is most of the job. Depending on the surface that means washing down, scraping and sanding back failed paint, filling cracks and holes, replacing perished sealant, spot priming bare areas and masking everything that is not being painted. Coverage never hides a surface that was not sorted first.

We work with Dulux, Haymes and Taubmans, and we will specify the system that suits the surface and the exposure rather than defaulting to one brand. If you have a preference, tell us and we will price it that way.

Yes. Low VOC options are available across the ranges we use, which matters in occupied homes, childcare rooms, schools and offices where people are back in the space quickly. We can specify them on your quote at your request.

Typically two topcoats over a properly prepared and primed surface. Some colour changes, bare substrates and heavily patched areas need more, and where that is the case it is written into the quote rather than added later.

We can put sample pots on your own walls so you see the colour in your light rather than under a showroom bulb, and we will tell you honestly what will and will not work in the room.

A single room is usually a day, a full interior repaint of an average Canberra home is commonly one to two weeks, and exteriors depend heavily on preparation and weather. Your quote carries an estimated duration, and we tell you if anything on site changes it.

We are contactable seven days a week from 7am to 7pm. On site we work to hours agreed with you before we start, which for commercial jobs often means evenings or weekends.

Almost never move out. We stage the work room by room so the house stays liveable, protect floors and furniture before we start, and leave every room usable at the end of the day. You do not need to be home, provided we have agreed access.

Interiors, yes, all year round. Exteriors depend on the day rather than the season, because coatings need surface temperature and humidity within range to cure properly. We would rather move a day than apply paint that will not last.

Yes, and on most commercial jobs we do. Work is programmed around your trading hours in stages so the doors stay open, whether that means evenings, weekends or a shutdown period.

Yes. We stage the work into sections, seal off active areas, use low odour systems where people are returning quickly, and leave each area clean and usable before we move on.

Yes. Safe work method statements, insurance certificates, inductions and site rules are handled before we arrive, and a named supervisor runs the job. We work regularly on government, school and strata sites where that paperwork is a condition of entry.

Yes, including common areas, corridors, lobbies, balconies and car parks. We deal with committees and managing agents directly and provide resident notices so the building keeps functioning while we work.
